As a department we are continually trying to make available interesting resources and we have just bought some new DVD’s for the LRC. These will be on general loan and are to be found in the film section. The current selection includes work by the following directors, Francis Ford Coppola, Sidney Lumet, Richard Linklater and Guillermo del Toro.

As part of our highly enjoyable and successful trip to New York we managed to get some new resources for the course. These are ‘Making Movies’ by Sidney Lumet, a fantastic book written by a highly successful director about how he works and the way in which a film is made. We also bought ‘Scenes from the City’ a photographic guide to famous film sequences that take place in New York and finally a book called ‘Street Smart’ by Richard A Blake which focuses on famous filmmakers from New York such as Scorsese, Lee, Lumet and Allen.
